Role Description

  • Act as the liaison between RPNAO and your workplace colleagues; formulate, develop, and maintain strong communication links with your workplace colleagues
  • Become familiar with RPNAO’s vision, mission, values, strategic plan, products and services
  • Represent RPNAO and its products and services to your workplace colleagues in a positive manner at all times
  • Inform and educate your workplace colleagues of RPNAO’s products and services via one-on-one and/or group interactions
  • Participate in organizing RPNAO workplace orientations for prospective members
  • Provide detailed information and facts about RPNAO to new employees
  • Support RPNAO awareness programs to acquire prospective members
  • Assist in putting RPNAO product marketing literature in place and positioned at strategic points in the workplace
  • Provide insights and feedback on issues concerning RPNAO; relay workplace colleague feedback to RPNAO in anticipation of improving products and services
  • Promote RPNAO through personal social media accounts (as per RPNAO guidelines)

Professional Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Active membership with RPNAO

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; confident in engaging others in conversation; passion for growing relationships with workplace colleagues of different backgrounds
  • Portray a high level of professionalism while dealing with workplace colleagues
  • Must show high levels of credibility at all times
  • Possess good leadership skills to be able to set a proper example for your workplace colleagues
  • Pose a positive attitude with respect to the role of RPNs
  • Willingness to learn
  • Nice to have: Social media savvy; have a well-established online (social media) presence; strong working knowledge of the CNO standard on the 6Ps of social media.


  • One year (July 1 to June 30)
  • Approximately one hour per week

Role Training and Preparation

  • Review RPNAO materials
  • Participation in an online orientation
