Nursing Education Initiative (NEI)

The Nursing Education Initiative (NEI), which is funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, offers nurses registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario an opportunity to apply for grants for continuing education courses or programs that increase their knowledge or professional skills.

Nurses undertaking professional development courses or programs may be eligible for grant funding of up to $1,500 per funding year. These education grants are intended to reimburse base tuition fees, as well as registration fees for conferences, seminars, and workshops. To be eligible for funding, the professional development courses or programs must be provincially-recognized and enhance the quality of care and services provided in Ontario. Please be advised that funding is not guaranteed!

How do you apply?

Applicants have 90 days after the education finish date to submit applications for education grant funding. To apply for the Nursing Education Initiative, simply submit the signed and completed NEI application form along with the necessary supporting documents to our office.
