Last August the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care changed how it funds physiotherapy services and exercise and falls prevention classes across Ontario. Nearly all changes have now been implemented.
However, patients have been telling us that they have questions about the changes including the number of treatments available, the roles of Community Care Access Centres, and general eligibility. Many health care professionals have also asked us questions about the episodes of care model and what this mean for patients requiring physiotherapy.
In response, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has compiled a short list of need-to-know facts about publicly-funded physiotherapy and exercise and falls prevention classes. You can find these online at Ontario.ca/physiotherapy.
Together, we can improve overall understanding of publicly-funded physiotherapy and exercise and falls prevention classes in Ontario.
